How does LIQWD verify real estate agents?

Your licence number is matched to the regulator's public record, which in Ontario is RECO. You upload your certificate, it is matched to your name and number on the spot, and the file is not kept. When it matches, your account is verified and your public page goes live with a verified badge.
If the match is not confident, a person reviews it against the same register, usually the same day.
Why it matters to buyers
Every agent a buyer can contact on LIQWD holds an active licence that was checked. The directory, the neighbourhood pages and the seller pages list verified agents only.
Outside Ontario
Agents elsewhere can sign up today. Verification there is reviewed against the regulator's public register by hand, with the same badge at the end.
